Paige got in my bed this morning and was awake at about 6:00 or earlier. She suddenly said, "Mom, your friend is here." I said, "What?" "Your friend is here." She pointed outside our bedroom door into the hallway. I felt a little freaked out for a second. I said, "What friend?" She said, "The heater."
I've told her when I was younger I liked it when the heater came on because I was always scared and would lay awake for hours after everyone else was asleep. Sometimes when the heater came on I could get to sleep. It felt like the heater was my friend. I thought it was cute she remembered that. The heater was just starting to come on when she said that to me. I thought maybe we had an angel visitor for a minute. WHEW!!!
And by the way, Paige is wanting me to mention that the other day she found the purple "yes" heart in my drawer. Apparently Preston does mind brown spots on his candy. And I had thought I was absolved from having to do anything special with the hearts other than keep them forever and ever.

Geez - that's a close call on the friend! I wonder if ever since you told her that story, she has also thought of the heater as her friend. It's cute! :) Kids internalize so much.
