A not-so-interesting picture for a significant event

What is this fuzzy, strange picture? I'll tell you two stories about it:Story #1: About two weeks ago Preston came into my room after having rummaged through some of my drawers in the bedroom (which he knows very well he gets in trouble for). He was chewing something. I asked him what he was eating. He said, "I'm eating some of your candy from your drawer." I knew there was no candy in my drawer so I asked him to open his mouth. I could see pink in his teeth. Notice the colors of the candy above? After thinking for a minute I knew exactly what he did and was sad, but also hoped he enjoyed his 9-year-old candy and wouldn't have any aftereffects.

Story #2: In the month of February, 2001, Doug and I were at his brother's house in front of a bowl of candy. Doug and I had been dating for almost 2 months and were inseparable at that point. He handed me the above pink heart, which says, "Marry Me." There was something different about the way he looked at me as he handed me the little pink love heart. I got some candy of my own out of the bowl and amazingly found a purple heart that said, "Yes." My heart started pounding because I knew I could brush off the pink love heart, eat it and nothing more would be said, but I could also hand him the purple heart. With my heart pounding I handed him the purple "yes" heart, also with a twinkle in my eye. He said, "Really?" I said, "Sure." And it's all history from there. We were married March 10, 2001.

Preston ate the very hearts we gave each other so long ago, which were in a special box in my drawer. Apparently he didn't mind the brown spots on the "yes" heart. I hope he's happy!!

Darn it Preston! I really like this story and I can't believe it's been 9 years!! It's so sad to see kids just destroy in one chew what you have treasured for so long. At least now you have a blog post to document it all.
