Honesty in Cleansing

I was planning on having just the lemon drink during my 10-day cleanse, which was very successful last time I did it. However, on day 2 I decided to add the following items to my cleanse ... Today is day 9 and I have lost a total of 11 lbs. I haven't measured myself, but I can tell I've lost several inches as well. Now the real challenge will be to keep exercising and get myself looking and feeling great all the time.

Okay, and since I'm being honest I'll tell you I did have a piece of chicken last Sunday. We had dinner at Mark & Carolyn's. I brought my drink, a bowl of veggies and some watermelon. If you'll look at the picture of veggies you'll see slices of peppers ... put two of them together and that's how much chicken I had. That was my only cheat. You should have seen Mark's excitement at me "caving" in to the chicken ... and his disappointment when I didn't cave to anything else.

While I'm on this topic, I'll mention one last thing. I've noticed when I'm cleansing certain things smell SOOOO good to me. Last time I kept opening up a jar of peanut butter and smelling it. This time I opened up a jar of peanut butter to smell it and was surpised that it had no effect on me. I didn't crave it at all. Here's a list of the things that smelled good to me this time:
  • churros at Costco (I think it was the cinnamon sugar)
  • my homemade salsa
  • lemon pepper chicken
  • watermelon (which I ate)
  • my mom's potato salad
  • homemade rolls (which I made ... and saved a few for later ... they're darkies)

And here are many things I passed up these past 10 days:

  • all of the above except watermelon and a small piece of chicken
  • Hershey's bar with almonds
  • Peppermint Patty
  • Peanut M&M's
  • Lay's plain potato chips (and especially a burnt one ... my FAVORITE)
  • cheese
  • bananas
  • McDonald's
  • Wendy's
  • A barbecue at my Uncle's house (I was in attendance and brought the same picnic I had at Mark & Carolyn's)
  • Renee's peanut butter bars
  • banana bread
  • my morning blueberry shake with almonds
  • mini chocolate candy bars
  • soda pop

That's all I can think of. Obviously I missed dinners, but I can't remember one dinner other than the chicken one, sorry. Now if I can get myself to pass up these things more often or eat less I'll be happy ... won't I? Maybe not my mouth, but my mind and body will thank me.

I'm happy to see that my peanut butter bars were a temptation! That means they are dang good!

Good job on your cleanse! I'm glad you are seeing success with it. :) Whenever I do a cleanse it's surprising to me to see what my body starts to crave. Lots of times I end up craving green peppers and fruits. It also really makes me appreciate eating crunchy things when my cleanse is done.

So, did you go down a pant size? I look forward to seeing your continued success!

You are truly an inspiration. What self-discipline! I love the list of foods. I think it's funny that you even listed them.

I am very interested to hear about your end result, including your liver flush. Way to go, Shauna!!!

Good job! I'm glad your cleanse went well.

I prefer eating junk, so I admire those with the gumption to stick to anything but a "see food" diet.
